               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;"><b>JOB DESCRIPTION: </b><BR>Organization is recruiting to fill a variety of non-permanent Scientific Technican 2 positions throughout the state.  This will establish a pool of candidates for consideration as positions become available statewide.  Candidates in this pool will remain active and available for consideration for up to 180 days from the date of application.  Duties as a Scientific Technician 2 include:<BR>*Conducting juvenile salmonid trapping<BR>*Adult weir operations<BR>*Adult fall Chinook, coho and chum salmon and steelhead spawner surveys<BR>*Angler interviews including collection of catch per unit of effort data<BR>*Examining catch including identifying, counting, DNA sampling, measuring, taking scales and coded-wire-tag detection<BR>*Recording and maintaining accurate field data records and samples<BR>*Walking, hiking or rafting long sections of rivers each day regardless of the weather conditions<BR>*Collect information from redds including location, date, fish presence and GPS coordinates<BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS :</b> <BR>*High school/GED graduate plus one year of high school science and two years of experience as a Scientific Technician 1 or two years of laboratory or field experience as an assistant to a biologist, chemist, or zoologist or College course work involving major study in biology, zoology, fisheries, chemistry, natural sciences, or closely allied field will substitute, year for year, for experience, provided the course work includes at least six semester or nine quarter hours for natural science classes<BR>*Valid Drivers License to drive company vehicle<BR>*Must join union and pay union dues, or pay the union a representation or other fee within 30 days of the date you are put into pay status<BR>*Must be able to see coded wire tags, which are 2mm long<BR>*Must be able to identify color red<BR>*Must be able to swim in various bodies of water<BR>*Must be able to hike up to 10 miles<BR>*Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for long distances<BR>*Must be able to work in a various of weather conditions<BR>*Must be able to work alone in isolated areas<BR><BR><b>HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE: </b> <BR>*Full time<BR>*May entail working nights, weekends, and overtime<BR><BR><b>SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: </b> <BR>*$2,426 to $3,041 per month, will depend on experience<BR>*Benefits available<BR><BR><b>CLOSING DATE/DEADLINE: </b><BR>*Open until filled or at the direction of the employer<BR><BR><b>HOW TO APPLY/REQUEST A REFERRAL: </b>  <BR>*Contact your nearest WorkSource Office in person.  Reference the job identification number listed above (begins with WA)<BR>*This employer has requested that WorkSource review applicants for qualifications<BR>*It is up to the employers discretion to contact desired applicants<BR>*Employment Specialists are available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at WorkSource Cowlitz/Wahkiakum<BR>*Dress appropriately for an interview<BR>*<b>Ask About Veterans Priority of Service!</b><BR><BR><b>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: </b><BR>*Resume (targeted to the job description and requirements)<BR>*Cover letter <BR>*List of Three Professional References<BR><BR><i>WorkSource is an equal opportunity employer and provider of employment and training services.
