               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Position Purpose:<BR>The primary purpose of this position is to ensure fair and accurate financial reporting, sufficient internal controls over District assets and disbursement activities, and contractual and statutory compliance by managing all activities of the Accounting Department. <BR><BR>Accountabilities and Essential Functions<BR>1. Support the District’s mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code. <BR>2. Ensure compliance with District policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) by oversight of the accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, property and inventory accounting, project accounting, tax reporting, and travel reimbursement.  <BR>3. Manage the development, analysis and presentation of internal and external financial information by overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements, quarterly performance measurement reports and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. <BR>4. Support business decision process by providing advanced or specialized financial reports or analysis as needed.  <BR>5. Ensure the integrity of the District’s integrated financial systems by providing oversight of the financial modules and reviewing and prioritizing system enhancement requests. <BR>6. Safeguard the District’s assets by providing oversight of all disbursement controls for accounts payable, payroll and travel. <BR>7. Act as the District’s Deputy Auditor by performing business process reviews and internal audits of critical business functions and by advising District management on procedures and policies that ensure sufficient internal controls. <BR>8. Ensure pay and benefit practices and related payments are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, District policies, and applicable Federal and State laws by acting as a liaison with Human Resources on related issues. <BR>9. Ensure the fair and accurate presentation of the District’s financial statements and notes by coordinating the annual audit. <BR>10. Perform other duties as requested.</font></td>
