REI offers an excellent compensation package, flexible benefits, outstanding retirement plan, annual incentive program, and a generous merchandise discount to help you enjoy your free time.<BR><BR>This position is responsible for participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes, which includes processing of fixed asset invoices, review and reconciliation of certain general ledger accounts, and preparation of journal entries and internal management reporting. Other responsibilities include: 1) participating in process improvement projects, 2) collaborating with real estate and store development on lease related transactions, and 3) completing other non-routine assignments as requested by department management.<BR><BR>Specific Fixed Assets Responsibilities:<BR>? Team with supervisor on ensuring the accuracy of monthly fixed asset reporting.<BR>? Work directly with Store Development on capital budgeting and spend analysis.<BR>? Review capital approval forms and assign Internal Orders to approved projects.<BR>? Reconcile assets under construction and fixed asset accounts.<BR>? Work with business units and retail stores on maintaining current fixed asset inventory.<BR>? Dispose, retire, and impair fixed assets in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.<BR>? Provide capital reporting to tax department for annual filings.<BR>? Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.<BR>? Offer guidance to other business units regarding capitalization policies.<BR><BR><BR>Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field<BR>? 5+ years accounting experience<BR>? CPA required<BR>? SAP experience preferred<BR>? Lease accounting experience preferred<BR>? Fixed assets experience required<BR>? Experience analyzing informational data in an ERP configured system<BR>? Advanced use of Excel worksheets<BR>? Firm understanding of how to apply GAAP to General Ledger accounting and the ability to coach and provide guidance to other accounting staff on more complex accounting principles<BR>? Consistently demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills<BR>? Ability to maintain confidentiality surrounding sensitive employee or company information<BR>? Actively participates and collaborates with others on one''s own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals<BR>? Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals<BR>?
