Title: DART Bus Drivers

• Candidates with current CDL and passenger endorsement preferred

Work Schedule: 20 - 40 hours per week
Location: Kent, Kirkland, Bellevue and West Seattle bases

Salary: $14.05 per hour DOE

For 40 years, Hopelink, a vibrant community action agency, has served homeless and low income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in an 800 square mile area of north and east King County, Washington. Hopelink operates Dial-a-Ride Transit (DART) under a contract with King County Metro. DART offers variable routing in some areas within King County. It operates on a fixed schedule, but one that has more flexibility than regular Metro Transit buses.

Essential Functions:

• Provides safe, courteous and on-time transportation to customers in vans, minibuses or small buses; adheres to traffic regulations.
  
• Communicates and interacts with individuals of various backgrounds and abilities; communicates with dispatchers by radio and provides verbal and written reports.
  
• Assists and secures passengers; provides special assistance as needed, such as opening doors, operating wheel chair lift, escorting to buildings and the like.
  
• Communicates respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, ages, genders, gender preferences, races, physical abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and religions.
  
• Maintains schedules on regular or special routes; collects fares, issues transfers; provides verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules and transfer points; determines safest and most efficient routes to specific address.
  
• Inspects vehicle before and after operation; cleans vehicle interior and exterior as needed; fuels and performs minor maintenance on vehicle.
  
• Maintains punctuality and regular attendance in order to provide dependable service to the public.
