               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Title: Coding Specialist - FMG - Central Administration<BR>Location: WA-Tacoma-Fmg-Central Administration<BR>Job Number:_1200020285<BR>Job Summary: <BR><BR>This position is responsible for implementing the daily coding, billing compliance and auditing functions of the facility. The specialist supports the coordinators in researching, updating standard policies and procedures, and training materials. These standards are in adherence with applicable federal and state law, and the program requirements of federal, state and private health plans. The specialist is responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive review of services. This position is responsible for identifying compliance issues and analyzing practice patterns, verifying charges, and assigns valid ICD-9 and CPT codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with all regulatory guidance. This position works with the Coding Compliance Educators by identifying trends and educational opportunities with providers to ensure proper coding, documentation, and accuracy of billing within their areas of responsibility/specialty. This position meets regularly with the Supervisor Coding and Billing Compliance to ensure risks are identified and prioritized across the revenue cycle function.<BR><BR>Essential Duties:<BR>* <BR>Reviews comprehensive services, identifies compliance issues, analyzes practice patterns, and verifies charges; assigns valid ICD-9 and CPT codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with all regulatory guidance.<BR>* <BR>Adheres to Coding Audit and Monitoring Work Plan.<BR>* <BR>Understands and applies changes in the external regulatory environment and stays current with coding updates.<BR>* <BR>Meets production standards for coding procedures.<BR>* <BR>Supports the coordinators and educators in researching, updating standard policies and procedures and training materials.<BR>* <BR>Works with the Coding Compliance Educators by identifying trends and educational opportunities with providers to ensure proper coding, documentation, and accuracy of billing within their areas of responsibility/specialty.<BR>* <BR>Assists denial review team with insurance carrier payment denials and recommends appropriate billing corrections.
