Come Home to Hardie!<BR><BR><BR>The Maintenance Engineer improves the quality, timeliness, and safe repair of equipment for the maintenance organization with the overall goal of increasing equipment up time. As a member of the Maintenance Department, the Maintenance Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager.<BR><BR>Position Responsibilities<BR><BR>Implements the concepts of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) by:<BR><BR>? Conducting root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns;<BR>? Leading improvement projects to enhance process maintainability;<BR>? Redesigning equipment configurations to improve maintenance efficiency;<BR>? Re-engineering or replacing underperforming equipment; and<BR>? Engaging with corporate project teams to identify opportunities to institute reliability in the planning stages.<BR><BR>Analyzes data and equipment history for improvement opportunities by:<BR><BR>? Consulting with Technicians, Planners, Operating Managers, and Supervisors to determine preventative maintenance (PM) and repair effectiveness;<BR>? Conducting independent PM reviews to determine relevance and accuracy;<BR>? Assessing the Maintenance Technician utilization and performance;<BR>? Tracking mean time to repair (MTTR) and mean time between failures (MTBF);<BR>? Calculating PM/ predictive maintenance (Pdm) spending;<BR>? Estimating equipment lifecycle costing;<BR>? Evaluating plant critical equipment and spares; and<BR>? Reporting cost impact of improvement projects.<BR><BR>Works with Maintenance Technicians and Production Operators to establish departmental repair and maintenance standards by:<BR><BR>? Researching and developing new or improved repair work plans and procedures;<BR>? Identifying and creating new PM procedures using accepted best practices;<BR>? Developing repair and rebuild procedures for critical plant equipment;<BR>? Participating in down day planning and critique meetings;<BR>? Writing test procedures for repaired equipment to ensure repairs meet operating specifications;<BR>? Initiating engineering studies into equipment/process repair time; and<BR>?
