<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Medical Records Technician<BR>Tracking Code<BR>6201<BR>Job Description<BR><BR>STG International is seeking qualified candidates for the Medical Records Technician position to work full-time providing health care to detainees in custody in support of ICE Health Service Corps at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Medical Facility.<BR>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR>* Performs clerical work in support of the care and treatment given to patients upon intake and throughout detention.<BR>* Assists senior staff by administering the medical records system.<BR>* Maintains medical records in a clinical setting using manual and/or electronic systems.<BR>* Appropriately files individual documents and/or other information in medical records.<BR>* Accurately identifies information contained in records.<BR>* Assembles medical records ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.<BR>* Assembles medical records in proper sequence.<BR>* Ensures all necessary forms and documents are present, accurate, and complete.<BR>* Requests, initiates and files all health records in terminal digit order adhering to color-coded/electronic system.<BR>* Attaches and files information in each health record according to IHSC Health Services Policy and Procedure Manual.<BR>* Obtains provider''s signature on all ordered tests and studies including all outside medical reports.<BR>* Accurately assigns codes describing each diagnosis, surgical procedure and special therapy or procedure.<BR>* Uses standard medical record references, i.e., DRG''s.<BR>* Codes information contained on several forms and documents which make up an entire record.<BR>* Accurately codes diseases, surgical procedures, and causes of injury.<BR>* Accurately codes stages of disease using International Classification of Diseases (ICD) for Oncology.<BR>* Enters patient information into computerized patient information system according to ICD-9-CM.<BR>* Performs daily computer backup of health computer information system.<BR>* Responds to requests for copies of health records from detainees and logs all activity in the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) logbook.<BR>* Ensures only authorized personnel have access to health records and patient information.<BR>* Maintains both active and inactive health records in a locked secure environment.<BR>* Performs other duties as assigned.<BR>* Follows supervisory chain of command.<BR> <BR>STG International, Inc.
