This full-time position will support medical surgical nursing, in addition to other housewide needs. Ideal candidate will have strong med-surg, ICU, or stepdown experience.<BR><BR>JOB SUMMARY<BR>In the provision of indirect and direct patient care, the clinical nurse specialist integrates the overlapping roles of consultant, leader, educator, researcher and advanced practitioner. Works in collaboration with nursing leadership, nurse educators, and other clinical nurse specialists to identify and grow caring practices that enhance the wellness of patients, families, caregivers and systems.<BR><BR>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<BR><BR>* Assists in the collaborative development and implementation of a variety of programs including but not limited to competency based orientation, programs of care for specific patient populations, ongoing education/training and competency assessment.<BR><BR>* Serves as a consult to other nurses and healthcare professionals in assessing the needs of and planning care for patients and families.<BR><BR>* Serves as a role model in the provision of patient care through professional behaviors and the application of advanced clinical skills.<BR><BR>* Collaborates with the unit managers and director to establish and evaluate the standards of nursing practice (at the nurse, unit and organizational level), communicates these standards to the nursing personnel on the units, changes standards as necessary, follows up on discrepancies with the manager and individual caregiver as necessary.<BR><BR>* Serves as a leader in the provision of evidence-based care through the interpretation and dissemination of research findings and quality data to the staff.<BR><BR>* Performs other duties as assigned.<BR><BR>QUALIFICATIONS<BR>EDUCATION:<BR>Master''s degree in nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or a graduate degree (masters or doctorate) with a post-masters certificate as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from an accredited school of nursing<BR>EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:<BR><BR>* Minimum of five years of experience as an RN required.<BR><BR>* Minimum of three years progressive experience in applicable clinical area.<BR><BR>* Previous experience as a CNS preferred.<BR><BR>LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:<BR><BR>* Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required.<BR><BR>* ''Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.<BR><BR>* Board Certification as a CNS in applicable patient population preferred.<BR><BR>OTHER SKILLS:<BR>Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and a variety of equipment or technology tools<BR>Ability to engage learners and apply adult learning techniques<BR><BR>To learn more about Peace </font></td>
