<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">VP EXEMPT NON EXCLUSIVE<BR><BR> <b>PROGRAM ASSISTANT, ML</b><BR><BR><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><BR>The primary function of the individual in this position is to provide support to the Director of STEM Grant as well as other STEM staff. Primary areas of focus include: data collection, research and analysis, writing, the production of original work product in the form of letters, reports, plans, and analyses and general clerical work for the department.<BR><BR>The Program Assistant reports directly to the Director of STEM Grant and works closely with other STEM staff and Institutional Research.<BR><BR> <b>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b><BR>* Associate's degree in Business Administration or similar field from a regionally accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree.<BR>* Minimum of two years' increasingly responsible office experience.<BR>* Proficient in all aspects of computer work including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and the ability to adapt and quickly learn new technology.<BR>* Completion of at least one college-level statistics course with a grade of 2.5 or better, to be verified by official transcript.<BR>* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include, spelling, grammar and proof-reading ability.<BR><BR>ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:<BR>* Ability to interface well with all departments of the College and represent the STEM grant in a professional manner.<BR>* Ability to work independently and direct workflow for self.<BR>* Outstanding oral and written communication skills.<BR>* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.<BR>* Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change.<BR>* Critical thinking skills: Seeks resources for direction, when necessary. Performs independent problem solving and deals with a variety of concrete variables. Decision-making is logical and deliberate.<BR>* Performs actions that demonstrate accountability. Exercises safe judgment in decision-making. Practices legal and ethical guidelines.<BR><BR><BR><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b><BR>* Demonstrated experience with underprepared and disadvantaged students.<BR>* Bilingual fluency, especially in Spanish.<BR>* Demonstrated bicultural experience.<BR><BR><b>HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE:</b><BR>Basic work week is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Hours may be changed to meet the needs of the department.<BR><BR><b>SALARY / WAGE / BENEFITS:</b> <BR>Washington State Department of Personnel range 32 step A, $2212 per month followed by periodic increments to $2855 per month subject to legislative funding. <BR><BR>Mandatory six to twelve month trial probationary period. Excellent fringe benefits including paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Participation in state retirement system mandatory with both employee and employer contributions. <BR><BR>Comprehensive insurance package includes medical/dental/vision for family and life and salary insurance for employee (both employee and employer contributions).
