<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Associate Transportation Engineer; Ref 580.25 Duties: Under general supervision, provide transportation engineering services on transportation engineering projects related to planning & traffic operations/studies. Specifically, develop plans for transportation & traffic projects according to established engineering standards & state/federal construction policy. Perform Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design, traffic demand modeling, traffic demand forecasting, traffic impact & feasibility studies, and analyses of traffic operations using various traffic simulation software programs such as VISSIM, Synchro & SimTraffic. Prepare signal timing for multimode traffic operation. Prepare engineering drawings that meet state/federal government CAD standards using AutoCAD and Microstation. Prepare plans, alterations & modifications of proposed & existing streets, highways & freeways to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion. Work with land use data, demographic information, high-resolution aerial imagery and other geo-reference data sources to generate high quality digital maps & tables in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Develop databases in GIS using data from various sources such as roadways, traffic generators, urban boundaries and city limits. <BR><BR> <BR>Requirements: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field, plus one year of related transportation or civil engineering experience. Education and work experience to include: 1) Traffic control systems/operation software – VISSIM, Synchro and Simtraffic, 2) Intelligent Transportation System 3) Design software – AutoCAD and Microstation, 4) GIS software - ArcGIS, 5) Transportation design, urban transportation planning, and traffic demand modeling, and 6) Experience with traffic signal controllers and controller software (e.g. NEMA, 2070 controllers from Econolite, Siemens, Eagle etc.)</font></td>
