Abstracts information into the Hospital''s Information System.<BR>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES:<BR>Assign appropriate ICD-9-CM/CPT-4 diagnostic and procedural codes to all discharged/recurring patients.<BR>Abstract all discharged / recurring records into the Meditech System.<BR>Identify educational needs of facility and health data analysts and pursues education as appropriate.<BR>Monitor unbilled listings daily and pursue finalizing the coding/abstracting for these accounts.<BR>Review the medical record and compare the documentation in the record to the itemize patient bill for inaccuracies in billing:<BR>  a. Dose of Medication - (Oral and IV medications)<BR>  b. Room Charges<BR>  c. Surgery Charges - (Operating Room and Anesthesia)<BR>  d. Respiratory Therapy<BR>  e. Rehabilitative Therapies (Speech, Physical, Occupational, Speech)<BR>  f. Diagnostic Imaging<BR>  g. Laboratory Services<BR>  h. cardiopulmonary Services<BR>  i. Emergency Room Charges<BR>6.   Customer Service - Answers questions, develop reports for requesting administration/departments.<BR>7.   Perform other duties.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<BR>Two (2) years of Outpatient ICD, CPT; DSM IV previous Abstracting and Grouping experience<BR>American Health Information Management Credential, Certified Coding Associate required within 90 days of hire<BR>American Health Information Management Credential, Certified Coding Specialist or RHIT required within one (1) year of employment.<BR>WA State Drivers License with proof of Liability Insurance<BR>Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently<BR>Ability to work with a culturally diverse population<BR>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<BR>Registered Record Administrator, Accredited Record Technician<BR>American Health Information Management Credential or a Certified Coder Specialist<BR>Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking abilities                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       </font></td>
