               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">NAPCA needs a senior 55 years of age or older (PL-98-313) to work under the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Environmental Assessment (OEA) Laboratory in Port Orchard, Washington.<BR><BR>Qualifications:  Must be at least 55 years of age.  Have college degree in biological, or natural, sciences, and five (5) recent years of related experience in laboratory with knowledge and experience in aseptic techniques used in microbiology.  Recent experience in molecular technologies (PCR) is a plus.  Have basic PC knowledge, including MS Word and Excel, and experience with office equipment.  Be able to maneuver at least 25 pounds.  Job involves standing for long periods of time in the laboratory while conducting analyses or housekeeping chores. <BR><BR>Responsibilities and Duties:  Assist Microbiologists in the laboratory by performing general housekeeping functions, sample preparation, and analysis.  All projects with which the employee assists will have the potential to affect Puget Sound waters.   Housekeeping function includes, but is not limited to, media preparation, bottle preparation, glassware washing, and may require loading and unloading of the autoclave (may be more than 25 pounds).  Field laboratory preparation and other duties as needed.  Microbiology Analytical Support includes, but is not limited to, sample filtration, sample extraction, analysis, and data entry.  Wear appropriate laboratory gear (coat, gloves, safety glasses, shoes) at all times. Other administrative duties (e.g., filing), may be required.  Undergo annual medical monitoring.<BR><BR>$12.72 per hour.  Not to exceed 24 hours per week.  Temporary year-to-year.  Holidays, vacation, sick leave.  EOE.<BR><BR>Send your resume to lois@napca.org by October 31.<BR></font></td>
