Responsibilities participation in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair; care for patients with hematologic disease; establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of hematologic disease; carry out basic research in division research space assigned by the Division Head; participate in administrative committees and councils of the OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head; and engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head. It is anticipated your job will be made up of the following components: Clinical, Teaching Research/Academic, and In-Patient Service. The position will provide Hematology coverage at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, Hemophilia Center Clinic. Clinical: includes teaching time when on the ward, clinical administrative activities and up to one full day clinic or 2 half day clinic as your practice grows and 3 months of attending on the Hematology Service and covering approximately every 6th weekend. Teaching: includes lectures in the Hem/One Division, Department of Medicine for medical students, house officers and fellows. Research/Academic: this will allow you to develop an academic and research focus. Service: includes administrative assignments, etc.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Candidates must be a Board certified hematologist who demonstrate the background, focus and drive to excel, as well as the desire to deliver the best care possible to cancer patients in a clinical research environment. Our ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of teaching, basic, clinical or population research and patient care excellence.
