               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Assistant Director<BR> <BR>Department Teaching and Learning Center<BR> <BR>Location SN 475<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> Reporting to the Director of OHSU's Teaching and Learning Center, the successful candidate will mentor faculty in the development of teaching skills in the context of medical, nursing and dentistry education. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in teaching broad audience types with a proven track record of success as documented by course evaluations, learner feedback and testimonials. Knowledge and application of motivational techniques that encourage faculty to attempt new methods of instruction, the use of technology and different assessment techniques is required.<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary range $60,000 - $90,000 per year<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The Senior Instructor must be comfortable co-teaching in both large lecture and small group situations and be adept at enabling a teacher's content knowledge and delivery while facilitating the enhancement of an instructor's observable and/or measurable teaching skills repertoire. The successful candidate should possess the ability to build professional trust between his/her colleagues to earn the title of "a teacher's teacher."<BR>Key Responsibilities:<BR>* Analyze course content to ensure curricular adherence and instructional design to provide a solid foundation for successful teaching.<BR>* Observe faculty in their demonstration of teaching skills to assess/report effectiveness and to work collaboratively to suggest and develop teaching enhancements.<BR>* Consult with department heads and course directors in providing assistance to faculty who would benefit from mentorship in teaching skill development.<BR>* Assist faculty in building teaching portfolios appropriate for promotion and tenure consideration.<BR>* Conduct monthly workshops based on the university's teaching skills curriculum to build a common vocabulary and core competencies in building a culture of educational excellence.<BR>* Use diverse delivery methods to reach faculty where and when they are ready to learn including web conferencing, asynchronous technologies, individual consultation, in-class modeling, etc.<BR>* Build, deploy and evaluate faculty development services to meet and exceed accreditation requirements.<BR>* Actively participate in faculty governance especially as it relates to teaching performance and its contribution to promotion and tenure.<BR>* Research and disseminate best practices teaching and learning to the faculty community.<BR>* Become the spokesperson and ambassador for teaching excellence.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Minimum of a master's degree (PhD or EdD preferred) in education or related field with an extensive teaching experience in higher education; excellent working knowledge of instructional technology, instructional design, online teaching and professional relationship building.<BR>* A minimum of 10 years documented teaching experience in a post-secondary environment                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       </font></td>
