The Section of Community Oncology is part of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology employing 9 physicians and 3 nurse practitioners. Clinical, community oncology care is delivered in five locations throughout the Portland metropolitan area. The main location is a 53,000 square foot, free-standing, multi-disciplinary cancer center in Beaverton, Oregon just ten minutes from OHSU and the city center.<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary: $225,000-350,000; Location: Beaverton, OR<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The Section of Community Oncology of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute is seeking a board certified/board eligible medical oncologist/hematologist. The successful candidate will have a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university?s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The primary duties of the position include:<BR>? support of the mission, goals and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine<BR>? care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disease in the community setting<BR>? participate with other faculty on disease specific provider teams<BR>? establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of hematologic and oncologic disease<BR>? participate in administrative committees and councils of the OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head<BR>? engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head<BR>? participate, as desired, in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair<BR>? participate, as desired, in clinical, translational, and bench research activities<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Requirements include Board certified/eligible medical oncologist/hematologist licensed to practice medicine in Oregon with a desire to practice in a community based clinical environment as part of an academic health care system; able to demonstrate the background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the ability to provide excellent clinical care to breast cancer patients in the community setting; able to demonstrate a strong desire to provide excellent clinical care to cancer patients in the community; an interest in breast cancer; and a strong desire to provide excellent clinical care to cancer patients in the communi </font></td>
