Must demonstrate competency in their field (generation of new research hypotheses, planning of experimental design, evaluation of experiments and problem solving); obtain and retain research funds to support and direct an independent research program in concert with the Division research priorities; integrate his/her research program into the ONPRC mission; supervise research laboratory staff; contribute to scientific community by publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals; and present data at national and/or international scientific meetings. Expected to be involved in teaching, supervising graduate and/or postdoctoral students, serve on academic and service committees, and further the academic goals of the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC), and OHSU through interdepartmental activities, conferences and seminars. In addition, pursuant to ONPRC policy, should pursue opportunities for research advancement through development of external, as well as internal, collaborative activities.<BR>Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in neurophysiology, cellular & molecular neuroscience and integrative neurobiology in addressing neuroendocrine, neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative processes. The successful applicant must make a commitment to establish a nationally visible research program complementing existing strengths in genomics and phenotypic characterizations of disease processes involving the non-human primate nervous system.<BR>Scientist Track: Assistant; Associate; and Senior Scientist<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Advanced degree at the doctoral level (PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent).
