This Category Sourcing Manager will play a vital role in developing and executing the sourcing strategy for the Corporate Services Category in support of Con-way, Inc. and its subsidiaries. In addition, you will put your talents to the test working within the defined Strategic Sourcing strategy & guidance to organize and complete moderately to highly complex sourcing of <BR>products and services. <BR><BR><BR>Additional duties;<BR>Conduct moderately to highly complex market research and performs analyses to ensure best value, lowest total cost of ownership, and internal customer satisfaction is realized by the organization. <BR>Ensure efficient transition of completed sourcing events to the Supplier Relationship Management team (SRM) for contract implementation.<BR><BR><BR>Essential Functions:<BR><BR>* Partner with stakeholders to draft category plans in alignment with the strategic goals and direction of the Director, Strategic Sourcing.<BR>* Complete moderately to highly complex analyses for assigned projects and identify category area business & product trends.<BR>* Define sourcing specifications & cost reduction objectives, implement negotiation strategies, and identify high impact sourcing-related solutions to meet/exceed business objectives as required. <BR>* Conduct moderately to highly complex requests for proposal, requests for information, requests for quote and reverse auctions as required (all RFxs) through use of the strategic sourcing platform tools.<BR>* Lead /facilitate moderate to high risk sourcing projects through the full project lifecycle while managing and mitigating risk.<BR>* Utilize lean concepts to drive process improvement and cost reductions without compromising business strategies and/or quality.<BR>* Act as a corporate liaison to current and potential suppliers and business owners in support of Con-way?s strategic sourcing initiatives.<BR>* Assist in the development of Company and department standards and manage within those as well as applicable laws to ensure ethical negotiation and to preserve procurement reputation of Con-way, Inc. and its subsidiaries.<BR>* Perform other duties as assigned.<BR><BR>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<BR>* BA/BS degree required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training and experience.
