Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Certified Nursing Assistant is part of the health care team in locations throughout OHSU. The C.N.A. provides direct or general nursing care to patients from admission through discharge under the direction of a licensed nurse and within the parameters of the state licensing board. The C.N.A. assists the patient, patients' families, nursing staff and other support staff to assure the delivery of quality care in a safe and comfortable environment. The Specialty Float Pool C.N.A. will work with patients of all ages throughout University Hospital and Doernbecher Children's Hospital.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Current, unencumbered Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant II license and current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association. Experience in acute or long term care as a CNA is strongly preferred. Verifiable by reference: Dependable work history and ability to work as part of a diverse healthcare team. Must possess basic math skills and medical terminology. Able to read, write, and communicate appropriately and effectively. Able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, stand, and walk throughout the shift. Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous hospital CNA experience, OHSU experience, some college, and basic computer skills.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation time: 2 weeks. Constant exposure to usual hospital environmental conditions. Exposure to cleaning chemicals. Possible exposure to body substances. Frequent assignments with tight time frames. Frequent assignment changes from shift to shift, day to day. Occasional exposure to angry individuals. Ability to repetetively lift, bend, stoop, stand and walk throughout the shift.
