This position will be responsible for support and strategic consultation on public relations, education and outreach for OHSU Bob and Charlee Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness, an institute within the School of Medicine. The Moore Institute is a dynamic new entity at OHSU committed to establishing innovative uses of media and marketing tools to share cutting edge research on nutrition with the public in ways that demonstrably benefit individual and population health. The Communications Specialist will plan, execute and coordinate Moore Institute communications, including establishing and maintaining foundational identity tools. <BR><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The Communications Specialist will be responsible for writing and designing communications for other School of Medicine departments, including print and e-newsletters and other communications. This position will work directly with a small team and will share responsibility for strategy, writing, website content updates, event coordination/support, print design, and other duties as assigned. The Communications Specialist will collaborate closely with other communicators throughout OHSU, and with the Moore Institute Media and Marketing Committee.<BR><BR>The Communications Specialist will also participate in diverse writing and event management projects ? including but not limited to feature articles, newsletter updates, research briefs, community outreach materials and marketing copy on behalf of School of Medicine faculty, students, alumni and Office of the Dean staff.<BR><BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Minimum Qualifications:<BR>* Bachelor?s degree in a relevant field<BR>* Three plus years of experience in communications field with progressive responsibiilty in which writing, editing and strategic thinking using multiple communications tools were principle features<BR>* Experience in project managment, design and coordination<BR>* Experience as an event coordinator<BR>* Exceptional demonstrated writing/editing skills that reflect ability to convey complex issues on multiple topics for a range of audiences and purposes<BR>* Self-motivated, capable of managing multiple complex projects in a professional and timely manner<BR>* Excellent organization, management and prioritization capabilities<BR>* Good public speaking skills<BR>* Knowledge of expected computer software applications<BR>* Project management skills<BR>* Knowledge of and/or deep curiosity about health care issues, biomedical research and education<BR>* Independent thinking and initiative<BR>* Basic knowledge of or willingness to </font></td>
