That&rsquo;s where you come into the picture.<BR>General Position Summary:<BR>The Consumer Public Relations Specialist II position reports to the Public Relations Manager and provides support to the Public Relations Manager in all areas of Public Relations, including developing materials and contributing to and/or maintaining plans that will enhance the corporate image and sales of Columbia Sportswear as well as increase brand awareness and media exposure of the company and its products.<BR>The position coordinates and executes programs such as proactive product PR and placement/seeding, press kit development and distribution, social media outreach, trade and consumer press briefings and events, serving as the PR team&rsquo;s main liaison for consumer media.<BR>This position also works directly with members of the Public Relations, Social Media, Community Relations, Promotions, Creative Services, and Customer Service departments. Effective communication across CSC corporate office departments and outside vendors is a key to the success of this position. Additionally this position will develop and maintain product PR plans, key influencer/product seeding calendar, media briefing documents and event plans.<BR>The position requires exceptional media relations and communication skills, and a passion for following outdoor, apparel/outerwear, footwear and fashion trends.<BR>* Initiate and maintain positive relationships with media personnel. Includes writing pitch emails and responding to a variety of inquiries directly or by referring them to the appropriate Columbia Sportswear employee or executive. Incumbent is often the initial contact for media requests, samples, photos and product/company information. Occasional development of media plans, which will be approved by PR Manager, may be requested.<BR>* Extensive writing and development of press materials, newsletter stories, and other marketing collateral. Requires incumbent to do interviews, research and editing of material, all of which is to be approved by the Public Relations Manager.<BR>* Owns planning and execution of seasonal consumer media events, to include site selection, agency and vendor management, and budgeting. Provides support to PR Manager and Senior Manager of PR & Promotions other corporate PR events as needed.<BR>* Manage the production of press kits on a continual basis throughout the year.
