Focuses on functional sourcing events for major sub-category(ies) of expenditure within assigned Category area(s) in support of Con-way, Inc. and its subsidiaries, to include developing and/or implementing sub-category sourcing strategies. Conducts moderately to highly complex market research and performs analyses to ensure overall cost effectiveness, value creation and lowest total cost of ownership is realized by the organization. (Internal job title: Strategic Sourcing Analyst Sr.)<BR><BR>Essential Functions:<BR>* Manage moderate to high risk sourcing projects through the full project lifecycle.<BR>* Conduct moderately to highly complex requests for proposal, requests for information, requests for quote and reverse auctions as required (all RFxs) through use of the strategic sourcing platform.<BR>* Complete moderately to highly complex analyses for assigned projects and identify category area business & product trends.<BR>* Implement negotiation strategies.<BR>* Define specifications & cost reduction objectives. Identify high impact sourcing-related solutions to meet/exceed business objectives.<BR>* Conduct sourcing initiatives that utilize lean concepts to drive process improvement and cost reductions without compromising business strategies and/or quality.<BR>* Act as a corporate liaison to current and potential suppliers and business owners in support of Con-way?s strategic sourcing initiatives.<BR>* Assist in the development of Company and department standards and manage within those, as well as applicable laws to ensure ethical negotiation and to preserve procurement reputation of Con-way, Inc and its subsidiaries.<BR>* Perform other duties as assigned. <BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<BR><BR>* BS/BA degree required, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) desired, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. <BR>* 7 years direct purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience. <BR>* Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite to effectively communicate internally and externally.
