This position requires driving. Requires successfully passing of both criminal history and driving record reviews to meet OHSU standards.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Custodian will primarily provide cleaning services to the university. This position will collaborate with other team members, inside and outside of the department, by providing support, sharing information, and reporting issues. Individuals in this position must complete assignments by following written and verbal direction to achieve position objectives and department goals. The Custodian must also demonstrate flexibility and exercise independent decision making as needed based on needs of the facility. The Custodian must have attention to detail, a passion for cleaning, and the ability to maintain positive rapport with customers. The Custodial position is part of a highly productive, flexible team capable of collaborating with other work units to provide our customers with an outstanding environment in which to work. OHSU is committed to sustainable practices; the custodian will perform green cleaning practices and provide feedback to analyze effectiveness.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: High School diploma or GED Equivalent. Equivalent experience may substitute for education. Related job experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic. Knowledge of custodial practices. Demonstrated service orientation and teamwork skills. Proactive problem solving skills. Positive attitude and self motivation. May require ability to work independently. Understanding of English language to meet workplace and safety needs. Valid Driver License with a driving record acceptable to OHSU. Preferred: 1-2 years custodial experience. Knowledge and experience of floor care practices.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> This position requires a high level of physical activity. Must be agile, able to bend, stoop, climb, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations. Must be able to work at a rapid pace. Most of each shift is spent moving about and/or standing.
