Develop strategies for data acquisitions, backups, archive recovery, and general implementation of a database for testing and production use. Cleans and maintains databases by removing and deleting old data, building indexes, installing updates, and optimizing for performance. Evaluate software tools to facilitate database analysis and processing. Act as liaison with vendors and interface with MIS staff for application development and daily support activities. Keep informed of current information technology and business applications.<BR>Duties:<BR>1. Create, maintain, document, and manage a stable database environment for production and development systems including Dimensional CMM data collection and database and Engineering Services Procurement and Design Database.<BR>2. Develop, implement and maintain software including:<BR>- Redesign or revisions to existing manufacturing and procurement applications.<BR>- Create database structures, design and implement files, tables, security, and processes.<BR>- Provide problem resolution in routine and emergency situations.<BR>- Develop and monitor procedures for database backup and recovery.<BR>- Support data conversions.<BR>- Capacity planning, performance optimizing and monitoring.<BR>3. Design and develop custom application software including:<BR>- Version installation, patches, and upgrades.<BR>- 3rdparty software support.<BR>- Create and maintain scripts.<BR>- Maintain directories and file systems for test and production environments.<BR>- Migration of applications from test to production environments.<BR>- System security.<BR>- Capacity planning, performance optimizing and monitoring.<BR>- Provide problem resolution in routine and emergency situations.<BR>4. Consulting with IT Management on strategic directions.<BR>5. Contribute and conform to the development and execution of MIS policies and procedures including SOX.<BR>6. Occasional Off-shift and weekend database, application, and systems support.<BR>7. Disaster recovery planning and testing.<BR>Required Skills<BR><BR>Required Skills<BR>1. Demonstrated experience in Process Control or MRP systems.<BR>2. Proven project management and problem solving skills.<BR>3. Background, development, and implementation release for general use of the following environment and software:<BR>- Operating Systems: Windows, Windows Server<BR>- Databases: Oracle, SQL server, Dbase, MS-Access<BR>- Languages: VB.net, Visual Basic, Delphi, Clipper, MS Visual Studios Suite<BR>Required Experience<BR><BR>Required Experience<BR>1. Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and experience. Formal training and certification in Oracle database administration.<BR>2. Four years of experience as a software engineer or programmer in medium to large information technology infrastructure.
