We are currently recruiting for the following position:<BR>Data Center Cabling Technician<BR><BR>Belcan is currently looking for Data Center Cabling Technicians in the Portland, Oregon area.<BR><BR>Job Summary:<BR>Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.<BR><BR>Responsibilities will include:<BR><BR>* Installation of voice and data networks/telecommunications equipment to include running, pulling, terminating and splicing of cables; routers; switches; etc. for commercial buildings<BR><BR>* Read and follow blueprints and floor plans<BR><BR>* Certify channel and link test on horizontal cable using level one test (e.g. Fluke scanner)<BR><BR>* Complete daily and weekly reports<BR><BR>* Track and report time and materials against work orders/tickets/PO''s<BR><BR>* Order, receive, stock and track materials<BR><BR>* Comply with site and standard work safety requirements<BR><BR>* Interact daily with client(s) in a professional manner<BR><BR>Requirements<BR><BR>* Knowledge in ANSI/NECA/BICSI standard for installing commercial building telecommunication cabling<BR><BR>* Familiar with installations in a Data Center environment (Critical Environment)<BR><BR>* Working knowledge of telecom circuit troubleshooting using test equipment<BR><BR>* Working knowledge of BNC termination<BR><BR>* Ability to read and follow blueprints and floor plans<BR><BR>* OSI Layer 1, structured wiring and cabling (copper and fiber)<BR><BR>* Certify channel and link test on horizontal cable using level one test (e.g. Fluke scanner)<BR><BR>* Working knowledge of telecom standards regarding super-structure build out and cabling<BR><BR>* Provide your own basic cabling hand tools<BR><BR>Desired Skills<BR><BR>* Formal training in cable installation and termination<BR><BR>* Working knowledge of Fiber Optic cabling<BR><BR>* Data communications and telephony, including POTS, ISDN, Private Line (DSO to OC48) Frame Relay and ATM<BR><BR>* Familiar with Cable Color Coding (tip and ring) and 568A and B pin-outs<BR><BR>* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)<BR><BR>* Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude<BR><BR>* Familiar with CPE installation and configuration<BR><BR><BR>* Education and Experience<BR><BR>* Minimum of 2 years industry related experience<BR><BR>For more information, please visit our website athttp://www.belcan.com/tsdor contact our office at 972-239-0405.
