We post both current and future jobs in anticipation of our hiring needs.<BR><BR>Please note your application will remain active for 90 days.<BR><BR>Position Summary<BR><BR>Primarily responsible for delivering product to customers operating a straight truck 24 feet long or smaller.<BR><BR>Primary Responsibilities: <BR>* Deliver the merchandise to the customers (residential and commercial) in a prompt, safe, business-like manner; top priority should be given to taking care of the customer’s needs<BR>* Sort freight, load truck and verify packages against the manifest according to route sequence using all equipment necessary including pallet jacks, hand trucks, pallets, skids and hand held scanners<BR>* Handle all deliveries for the day and turns all delivery receipts to the appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift<BR>* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle being operated daily prior to leaving from and returning to the Staples Delivery Operation<BR>* Use a hand held package scanner in the delivery process as required<BR>* Obtain accurate electronic or paper POD (Proof of Delivery) for each delivery<BR>* Drive the truck in a safe, lawful and courteous manner always remembering that the people will judge us by the way you handle the vehicle<BR>* Conduct business in a professional and courteous manner<BR>* Keep the truck and associated equipment in proper working order; report any problems to the Supervisor; keep the cab and cargo area clean and free of clutter<BR>* Process all non-delivered and customer returns following correct procedures, upon return to the SDO at the end of the day<BR>* Submit all required POD’s, non-delivery, return information and reports to the appropriate Supervisor daily<BR>* Regular attendance<BR>* Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner<BR>* Pickup and accept merchandise returns and/or damages<BR>* When help assigned (Driver or Driver Helper), maintain responsibility for truck and equipment; lead daily completion of work and report questions/issues to SDO Supervisor right away<BR>Qualifications<BR>Basic:<BR>* High school diploma or equivalent<BR>* Ability to obtain a D.O.T. medical card<BR>* 1 - 3 years of driving experience in a service oriented position<BR>Must be at least 21 years of age<BR>* Valid driver’s license (no “major moving violations” as described in the employment application supplement and in accordance with applicable state law)<BR>* Math and mechanical aptitude<BR>* Able to navigate and read a map<BR>* Must have excellent customer service skills<BR>* Must be a team player and able to work well with minimum supervision<BR>* Must be able to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds<BR>* Must be willin </font></td>
