<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Enterprise Release Manager<BR>Location: Corporate - Portland, OR - Headquarters<BR>Requisition Number: 5686<BR># of openings: 1<BR><BR><BR>Description<BR><BR><BR>General Position Summary:<BR>Release management is an integral part of the system/software development life cycle (SDLC) and serves as a risk mitigation method in support of operational stability. The release manager organizes, directs, and manages activities for building and maintaining software and infrastructure releases for their promotion through a series of non-production platforms, ultimately leading to a production environment implementation. This role is expected to exercise sound judgment and employ critical thinking skills, which leads to fairly autonomous but well-informed decision making that can have a significant positive impact on the organization’s business functions. <BR>The release manager may manage direct reports and multidiscipline teams in a matrix management organization, which may include but is not limited to other release managers, deployment analysts, systems administrators and engineers, developers, and business analysts. The release manager identifies required skill sets, organizes resources and defines release schedules. The release manager is responsible for the coordination and timing of platform configuration and development activities associated with a release as defined by usage policies for each non-production platform. The release manager provides direction to team members responsible for executing and managing test processes and ensures that non-production platforms maintain a predefined level of integrity and consistency that allows development, unit and systems/integration testing activities, which ultimately lead to the successful deployment of new or modified business functions or infrastructure capabilities that define success for a release.<BR>As the Lead Release Manager, this individual is expected to develop and implement a Release Management discipline at Columbia Sportswear. The Release Manager will work with stakeholders to establish required policies, business processes, procedures and practices that appropriately address the risk tolerance of the organization and supports the release management discipline. This individual will collaborate with various service delivery organizations and stakeholders, including Change Management, to coordinate release and change requests. The release manager will participate and frequently, lead discussions and/or presentations with all levels of the organization to help educate and transition the enterprise to a formal and predictable release management process.<BR>The overarching goal and expectation of the release manager is to minimize adverse impacts associated with changes to overall services and service availability. Therefore, establishing, maintaining and reporting performance indicators and metrics that quantify progress towards this goal, on an on-going basis, are key deliverables for this role.<BR><BR>Essential Functions/Responsibi </font></td>
