The salary range for this position is $15.95-21.58/hr; This position is located at the Center for Health and Healing, South Waterfront.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Financial Counselor position at the University Fertility Consultants practice is responsible for the financial counseling of all patients seeking IVF treatment. This person will counsel patients on the financial options and resources that are available. This may include checking patient?s insurance benefits, co-payments, and payment obligations. Throughout the patient?s treatments, the Financial counselor will be the primary contact for all financial questions related to IVF services, and exhibiting premier customer service for these patients and their financial needs.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: One (1) year experience in a business office operations (outpatient setting), performing insurance verification, financial counseling and patient accounting for patients. Experience in managed care. Experience working in a busy environment with many interruptions while communicating effectively with patients, providers, coworkers, vendors, etc. Experience in a customer service role. Strong computer skills and experience using a healthcare billing and collection computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software (experience with Excel spreadsheets), internet and phone systems. Demonstrated strong customer service skills; ability to relate well to people and make them feel comfortable. Demonstrated strong organizational. skills with attention to detail; demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently, performing with accuracy and thoroughness, completing assignments in a timely manner. Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills and active listening skills; ability to work in a team, assisting coworkers as needed and volunteering for extra assignments and/or days when requested; ability to follow up and communicate information to appropriate people promptly and courteously; demonstrated ability to maintain composure in fast and changing environment. Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility for own actions and willingness to follow policies and procedures. Demonstrated sound and accurate judgment and problem solving skills; able to articulate reasoning behind decisions, including appropriate people in decision making process; demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information, using intuition and experience to complement data; ability to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
