The purpose of this role is to maximize sales and minimize returns by assisting customers with product selection.<BR>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR>* Assist trade professionals and residential consumers in placing orders quickly, accurately and with the right hardware solution for their jobs.<BR>* Handle complex orders, including custom requests, repair/alterations and parts sales.<BR>* Provide technical assistance to customers regarding products and other related subjects, including period and contemporary design, installation, troubleshooting unusual applications, etc. Take the initiative to make certain that customers will receive appropriate options and merchandise for specific applications.<BR>* Record verbal customer data directly into Company database quickly and accurately.<BR>* Respond to customers'' inquiries and solve problems effectively through email.<BR>* Make outgoing calls in order to service existing customers and prospect for new customers.<BR>* Promote Our Client''s products directly to consumers, both professional and residential.<BR>* Understand and use technical language of the industry, and translate information into laymen''s terms when appropriate.<BR>* Conceptualize, draft and price custom requests.<BR>* Provide proactive customer file management - i.e. notifying customers of changes or delays to status of order, following up on incomplete transactions, and seeking opportunities to engage and complete a sale.<BR>* Grow sales and develop lasting customer relationships through engaged listening, thorough analysis, creative problem-solving, and removing obstacles that prevent sales and customer satisfaction.<BR>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR>* Attend trade shows as needed (possibly once or twice a year).<BR>* Relate knowledge of architectural eras and styles to customers'' projects.<BR>* Answer status and system questions when Customer Service is not available.<BR>* Thoroughly understand warranty, returns and damage claim Policies and Processes.<BR>This is a temp-to-hire position throughVolt Workforce Solutionslocated in Portland, OR.
