               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Health Unit Coordinator<BR> <BR>Department Neuroscience ICU<BR> <BR>Location OHS 14B34<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> UHS, 7N<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 0.6 FTE; Sundays & Mondays, hours to be determined; Salary Range: $13.42 -17.88/hr; Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Health Unit Coordinator is part of the health care team and utilizes his/her knowledge and expertise to support and enhance nursing area/unit operations throughout OHSU. The Health Unit Coordinator maintains an accurate and current profile of patients and health care team members in multiple locations: census boards, computers, call lists, and charts. The Health Unit Coordinator acts as a communications specialist, providing secretarial and reception skills, computer entry services, and organizational and problem solving expertise.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical experience in a health care environment or related health care experience or a combination of experience and training required; reads, writes and speaks fluent English; Demonstrated excellence in communication, problem solving, and teamwork; Basic knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols required. Ability to prioritize and multi-task; Knowledge, skills and ability. National HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) certification preferred. Some college and previous ICU, hospital or clerical experience preferred.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> The Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) is a unit that is open and staffed 24 hours per day and 7 days per week specializing in the care of trauma and neurosurgical patients. Perform area specific skills and follow established protocols; Process physician?s orders, seeking clarification as needed; Recognize and respond to emergent situations.
