               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Hemophilia Nurse<BR> <BR>Department Hemophilia Treatment Center<BR> <BR>Location DCH 10124<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> Hemophilia Treatment Center, CDRC<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 0.8 - 1.0 FTE, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm or four 8-hour shifts/week, varied with ability to be flexible between 36 and 40 hours per week; Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The mission of the Hemophilia Center at OHSU is to assure persons in Oregon and southwest Washington with coagulation disorders are identified and assured ready access to excellent and coordinated services through programs of clinical service, education and research. There are over 350 families served by this program. The HTC nurses are the primary patient contact and liaison for the Hemophilia Center. Under the direction of the Hemophilia Nurse Coordinator, the nurses use sound clinical judgment in triaging, assessing, planning and implementing nursing care of patients with hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorder diagnoses. The nurses function as members of a multidisciplinary team and educate families, patients, schools, other professionals about bleeding and clotting disorders and their treatment. The nurses work collaboratively under the clinical guidance of the Hemophilia Nurse Practitioner and the physicians.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: BSN. Current, unencumbered Oregon Nursing License and BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association. Minimum five years recent experience with both pediatric and adult patients, patient/family education programs. Minimum one year of recent experience with peripheral blood draws and accessing central lines. Demonstrated excellent organization, critical thinking and communication skills. Must be able to function independently, as well as in an interdisciplinary setting. Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred: Minimum five years recent experience in management of patients with bleeding disorders or Hem/Onc.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Hours will include occasional evening clinics (~ 4-6 per year). Typical work environment is a medical office setting. Required travel nationally and throughout Oregon and Washington. Must attend annual hemophilia camp one week a year.Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time. Ability to move around work area, bend forward and reach overhead frequently. Ability to climb stairs, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, move carts occasionally. Able to operate a keyboard and a motor vehicle. Required to travel nationally and throughout Oregon and Washington. Must attend annual hemophilia camp one week per year. Rapid mental, hand/eye coordination regularly required. Ability to speak in a clear and audible voice, correctable vision and depth perception.
