Opportunities for leadership are available.This position reports to the Chairman of the Department of Medicine for academic responsibilities and the Head of the Division of Hospital Medicine for clinical activities.<BR>Primary clinical duties while on the Medicine Teaching Service (MTS) are principally associated with the provision and coordination of inpatient care, staffing and teaching of the Medicine Teaching Service. The incumbent will be expected to round daily when on service, and complete teaching activities in the allotted times. High quality, enthusiastic, evidence-based teaching is an expectation of this Division. Teaching expectations include duties involved with running the inpatient service, plus an additional 60 hours of non-ward didactics (or the equivalent in course directorship). Ward teaching will include bedside rounds, and focus on techniques of history and physician examination, expanding clinical reasoning and critical thinking, and applying and reviewing current best evidence for our practice. Attendings are expected to provide pre-rotation orientation, mid-term summative feedback, and post-rotation verbal and written feedback.<BR>Primary clinical duties while on the Clinical Hospitalist Service (CHS) will be to perform medical consultation, participate in co-management with other specialties, and admit, manage and discharge patients. This position is part of a program committed to the provision of excellent, consumer oriented patient care. Thus, the employee will represent this objective in interactions with patients, consultants, or other individuals involved in the care process. This program also covers its own clinical activities, such that each member will be part of an internal 'back-up' system in case of illness or absence.<BR>Primary clinical duties while on either service consist of being the Physician of Record for the hospitalization for patient on your service. It will involve performing clinical evaluations, documenting and generating billings related to those visits. The incumbent will be expected to interact daily with case management about the treatment and discharge plans on your patients.<BR>The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship as directed by his/her department.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Require </font></td>
