               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Instructor NP/PA<BR> <BR>Department Pediatric Hematology/Oncology<BR> <BR>Location CDRC 3107<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary: Commensurate with education and experience; Location: Marquam Hill<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA). The APP is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylawsThis APP delivers acute healthcare services to children and young adults admitted to Doernbecher Children?s Hospital on the pediatric hematology/oncology service. When feasible, the APP provides advanced education to nurses and other staff on nights, contributes to new knowledge and/or technology by conducting in-services and preparing education material, and participates in research by caring for patients who are enrolled in clinical trial research protocols. In addition to key job responsibilities, qualifications and other job requirements listed below, the APP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice. The duties of this position include:<BR>1. Clinical Activities:<BR>Assure the safe, efficient, high quality and customer oriented management of patient care to the pediatric hematology/oncology population, including but not limited to completing a comprehensive assessment of the patient?s status; developing, monitoring and revising, as appropriate, an evidence-based treatment plan that addresses diagnoses, patterns of disease, risk factors, and treatment alternatives; treat many common acute and chronic health problems; interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe and manage medications and other therapies; provide health teaching with an emphasis on anticipatory guidance and risks of complications of therapy.<BR>2. Scholarly Activities:<BR>Like all OHSU Pediatric faculty members, advanced practice providers are expected to have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. APP faculty members are often called upon to partner with other providers and members of the department or division research support staff in research activity. APP faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.<BR>3. Education:<BR>This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in pediatric rotations.
