The practitioner is under the supervision of the Section Head for Community Oncology and provides patient care consistent with the credentials and the philosophy of the Department of Medicine, University Hospitals and Clinics. The practitioner functions in a manner that maintains the confidentiality and privacy of each patient, promotes a positive relationship with all health team members; supports the policies and procedures of the University Hospitals and Clinics; and allows for additional provider coverage in our Community Oncology Clinics.<BR>Primary responsibilities include:<BR>* See up to 25 patients a day<BR>* Address urgent needs and evaluating the patient situation to determine the tolerance of the treatment, review labs, and modify orders as needed.<BR>* See new patients in conjunction with attending physician.<BR>* Write chemotherapy orders when treatment plan has been initiated by attending physician in compliance with credentialed privileges.<BR>* Manage patient anticoagulation, as appropriate.<BR>* Work closely with phone triage staff to manage patient issues and problems and see patients emergently as add-on/walk-ins as appropriate or requested by attending physician.<BR>* Admit patients to community hospitals as appropriate in collaboration with attending physician.<BR>* Attend rounds on patient in community hospitals as requested by attending physician in compliance with community hospital credentialed privileges.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Requirements include:<BR>* Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse license.<BR>* Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon.<BR>* State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges.<BR>ACLS/BLS Certification.<BR>Preferred qualifications include:<BR>* Membership in a professional nursing organization.<BR>* A minimum of one year experience as a nurse practitioner.<BR>* A minimum of 1 year oncology experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>How To Apply <BR> <BR> <BR><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> <BR>Apply here online.
