To complete projects in accordance with city, state and national electrical codes, customer and PCC specifications.<BR><BR>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:<BR><BR>1. Instrumentation<BR><BR>Objective: to maintain, calibrate, design, install, and debug control systems for all machines and equipment.<BR>Essential Job Functions:<BR><BR>A. Regularly surveys plant equipment controls and instrumentation, calibrates,installs, debugs, repairs and/or adjusts as necessary to meet process control specifications.<BR>B. Fabricates, re-certifies and installs thermocouples.<BR>C. Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), computers, industrial control programs, and interfacing between controllers and programming systems.<BR><BR>2. Electrical<BR><BR>Objective: to maintain, install, repair and adjust electrical systems and equipment that provide power to production equipment and facilities.<BR><BR>Essential Job Functions:<BR><BR>A. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions using electrical test instruments.<BR>B. Installs and maintains control panels, motors, motor controllers, transformers, wiring, switches, alarm systems and other equipment.<BR>C. Programs, installs, troubleshoots and maintains programmable controllers.<BR>D. Assist with mechanical repairs as required, including, but not Limited to: Furnace preparation, troubleshooting of systems, general mechanical repairs, response to plant emergencies, off shift assistance to on-duty Millwrights.<BR><BR>3. Projects and Technical Assistance:<BR><BR>Objective: to plan and design instrumentation/electrical projects and provide assistance on technical issues.<BR><BR>Essential Job Functions:<BR><BR>A. Plans and designs complex installations.<BR>B. Provides technical assistance for the selection of new equipment.<BR>C. Assists others, including maintenance coordinators and engineers with planning and technical issues.<BR><BR>4. Safety:<BR>Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.<BR><BR>NOTE: for job positions that require respiratory protection (more than a filtering face piece - dust mask):<BR><BR>In compliance with the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division Personal Protective Equipment standard for Respiratory Protection, OAR 437, Div. 2/I 1910.134 and Oregon Health Division Rules for the Control of Radiation, OAR 333. Div. 120 (333-120-300 through 330), certain tasks within this job position<BR>require/may require the use of a NIOSH-approved respirator.
