               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Title: Investigator - Biostatistician<BR>Location: Portland, OR<BR>To develop a program of research through designing specific projects for submission to funding agencies, implementing research and demonstration projects in the investigator''s area of specialization, preparing papers reporting research results for presentation to scientific/professional organizations and for publication in the scientific/professional literature, and participating in the overall development of the CHR''s research agenda.<BR>Essential Functions:<BR>- Design, develop, and obtain funding for delimited but well defined research, demonstration, and evaluation projects in the investigator''s area of particular expertise in order to add to knowledge about health and health care delivery.<BR>- Develop an ongoing program of research through coordinating a series of research proposals and projects into a logical investigation of a particular research question, topic, or area.<BR>- Disseminate research results through presentations and publications in scientific and professional journals, books, etc.<BR>- Provide technical consulting and professional service to KP, and serve on various KP committees and task forces.<BR>- Participate in the ongoing maintenance of the Center through assisting in the development of Center policy, providing technical services and consultation, and by helping to define the CHR''s future research agenda.<BR>- Participate in education by helping to train undergraduate, graduate, and post doctoral students pursuing health and health services research careers.<BR>- Provide service to the scientific and professional community through membership on scientific peer review groups and national boards; and consult with local, state, and national voluntary and governmental agencies.<BR><BR>- Use appropriate computer programs to assist in data collection, tracking, ordering laboratory tests or procedures, or communication, such as RRS, Health Connect, study specific programs, CAS, and other computer software as needed.<BR>Qualifications:<BR>Basic Qualifications:<BR>- 2-3 years'' experience as co investigator or principal investigator of research projects.<BR>- 2-3 years'' research experience during graduate and post-graduate training.<BR>- Doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., or Dr.P.H.) in one of the social sciences, medicine, or health care disciplines.<BR>- Investigators from the academic fields typically hold membership in their respective professional/scientific associations.<BR>- Investigators from health care fields typically hold licenses in their respective professions (e.g., M.D., R.N.) as well as membership in scientific associations.<BR>- Thorough knowledge of quantitative methods (from mathematics and statistics) for dealing with methodological and analytic problems in the investigator''s substantive area of expertise, e.g., epidemiology, sociology, economics.<BR>- Working knowledge of health care organization, policy, practice, and management (to facilitate application of research to medical and health care                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   </font></td>
