               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">IRB Administrative Chair<BR> <BR>Department OHSU Research Integrity Office (ORIO)<BR> <BR>Location ADP 180<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary range $77,000 - $115,500<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The purpose of this position is to<BR>* Advance the ethical conduct of human research at OHSU<BR>* Manage operational and administrative functions of the OHSU Institutional Review Board (IRB)<BR>* Provide leadership and guidance of institutional compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to human research by monitoring protocol activities and providing training, guidance, and support to the institution<BR>Key Responsibilities:<BR>* Staff Supervision and Day-to-Day Management of IRB operations<BR>* Regulatory Compliance: Lead in development of policies and procedures for submission to the IRB leadership for its approval in partnership with the OHSU IRB advisory councils, ORIO, the IBC, the OHSU research community, and other appropriate OHSU units<BR>* Education and Training: Appropriate and on-going training and education are required by certain federal regulations. This position will work with other ORIO staff responsible for compliance education to develop, deliver, and document accurate and continuous education programs for investigators, research administrators, and IRB members<BR>* Continuous Improvement & Support/Guidance: Work with IRB staff, investigators, and research administrators to facilitate and continuously improve the protocol submission process<BR>* IRB Chair; Serve as a Chair of the IRB, subject to the needs of the OHSU IRB and directed by the IRB Chair. Preside over meetings of the IRB and lead the IRB in carrying out its responsibilities required by ethical principles, federal regulations, state and local laws and OHSU policies and procedures related to the review of human research<BR>* Contract, Grant, and Protocol Review: Review grants, contracts, and protocols as a supplement and aid to work performed by the chairs and IRB members<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Required:<BR>* Advanced degree in related field<BR>* Three to five years demonstrated compliance with institutional policies as well as relevant federal regulations and guidelines<BR>* Three to five years demonstrated experience in supervision of professional staff<BR>* Extensive knowledge of human research<BR>* Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment<BR>* Effective organizational abilities, oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills<BR>* Ability to operate and communicate effectively while meeting multiple deadlines and completing projects simultaneously<BR>* Ability to interact in a positive, productive manner with scientific and technical staff (demonstrating sensitivity, tact, and professionalism)<BR>* Ability to develop and implement new and revised SOPs<BR>* Ability to provide training and documentation of training for applicable regulatory requirements<BR>* Ability to effectively identify and resolve issues and c                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             </font></td>
