The primary purpose of this position is to handle patient care activities are related to rooming, measuring, recording, and reporting patient information and performing simple treatments and procedures. The CMA will be expected to recognize and address age-appropriate needs when caring for patients. In addition, the CMA assists in maintaining the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition including cleaning and stocking rooms; participates in ongoing professional development and competency assessment; participates in ongoing quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives; and performs requirements for Staff Members as outlined in Compliance Roles and Responsibilities in OHSU Hospitals and Clinics.<BR>This position provides care to a population with predictable dermatologic needs. As a member of the health care team, the incumbent assists providers in caring for patients with acute and chronic dermatologic conditions and provides this care consistent with the OHSU and departmental policies and procedures.<BR>This position performs in a manner which maintains the confidentiality and privacy of each patient, and promotes positive health habits through appearance and attitude as well as supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Policies and Procedures of both OHSU hospital and clinics and the Department of Dermatology, and models ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance and personal integrity.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited medical assistant training program; a minimum of 1 year experience in a position requiring heavy customer contact and service; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle a high volume of interactions (phones, patients, etc); ability to communicate clearly with proper grammar and spelling; ability to follow oral and written instructions, and deal with diverse patient/family interactions; ability to recognize and communicate problems promptly; demontrated computer proficency; and BLS certification.<BR>Preferred qualifications include Certified Medical Assistant certification; at least 1 year of outpatient experience within the last 3 years; and recent dermatology experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Applicants must be willing and able to work in a busy clinic </font></td>
