FTE: 0.003; Schedule: Varies, M-F, 8am to 5pm; Salary range: 14.57 - 19.64/hour; Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Pediatric Medical Assistant (MA) works under the direct supervision of the Pediatric Providers. The MA performs delegated clinical and administrative duties within the supervising physician?s scope of practice and consistent with the MA?s education, training and demonstrated competency. The medical assistant collects, records, and reports patient care data, carries out age-specific, direct patient care, performs/assists with general and specialized procedure and treatments per protocol including lab draws, provides specific customer services which include scheduling physician office and ancillary appointments, teaches patients and families per protocol, carries out assignments and documents/communicates care given and patient?s response to care. The MA contributes to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Position exists to provide full range of MA assigned duties and support in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care setting (General Pediatrics, Pediatric Specialties, CDRC, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Westside Pediatrics and DCH lab). The MA represents and supports the Department of Pediatrics, Doernbecher Children?s Hospital (DCH), Ambulatory Care Services, Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU) and its faculty and staff by providing excellent customer service through prompt and professional communication skills, face-to-face customer contact skills, telephone skills and excellent problem solving skills. A true team player that helps when/where needed. Hours will vary, but will be on the weekdays anywhere from 0800 to 2100 as needed by the practices and DCH lab. Number of patients seen will be dependent on the practices, patients? needs and DCH lab.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Intermediate computer skills (must be able to use Microsoft word and Excel). Able to Multi-Task. Excellent Organizational Skills. Team Player. Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written. Preferred: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Six (6) months of recent clinical experience in a medical setting including experience in an Ambulatory Care, Urgent Care, and/or or Emergency Department. Certified as a Medical Assistant. Pediatric MA experience in ambulatory care setting and pediatric phlebotomy.
