               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Medical Director, LifeWorks NW<BR> <BR>Department Psychiatry<BR> <BR>Location MNP 2301<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> .5 FTE; Salary: $160,000 based on 1.0 FTE; Location: LifeWorks NW<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university?s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.The primary duties of this position include overall responsibility for working with Vice President of Clinical Services at LifeWorks NW in establishing medical practice and productivity standards that are consistent with good medical standards of practice, in compliance with administrative rules and are consistent with the requirements of major contractors for behavioral health services including Medicaid, Oregon Health Plan, Medicare, state general fund and commercial insurance. The medical staff, which includes both staff and independent contractor physicians, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and nurses report directly to the Medical Director who will be responsible for coordinating practices among the medical staff and being liaison between medical staff and the clinical management team. The incumbent will participate in the Quality Management process that is responsible for ongoing review and development of services and systematic review of client complaints and critical incidents.<BR>Specific duties include:<BR>? Advise VP of Clinical Services and Service Directors at Lifeworks NW in the development, implementation and periodic review of medical policies and procedures for the agency and within each service.<BR>? Under the direction of the VP of Clinical Services, assist in communicating changes in policies and procedures that effect medical practices to all medical staff.? Ensure compliance with medical oversight of treatment services as required by MHO, State, and Federal rules and regulations.<BR>? Chair a quarterly medical staff meeting.<BR>? Be liaison between medical staff and clinical services.? Review all formal complaints that involve medical staff practices.<BR>? Participate in all Peer Reviews implemented in response to Sentinel Events.<BR>? Complete Monthly Chart Audits of Medical Services? Provide crisis back-up coverage for medical services.<BR>? Participate in Quality Management process.<BR>? Other duties as assigned.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Requirements include:<BR>? Board Certified Psychiatrist<BR>? Current license to practice without restriction.<BR>? Ability to communicate effectively with staff and contract medical staff to effect change and assure compliance with internal and external standards.<BR>? Three years in community mental health and/or outpatient alcohol and drug treatment highly desirable.<BR>? Previous experience with children and adolescents desirable.<BR>? Previous Medical Director experience desirable.<BR>? Experience with managed behavioral health care essential.
