               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Medical Social Worker<BR> <BR>Department Care Management<BR> <BR>Location OHS 9C04<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> This is a RELIEF Position .003 FTE; Schedule: Vacation and Sick Coverage As Needed - 12 hour shifts; Salary range: $25.58 - $34.78/hourly; Location: Marquam hill<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Medical Social Worker, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, has the primary responsibility for assessment, counseling, information/referral, crisis intervention, patient advocacy and associated services to patients, families, significant others and involved parties/agencies. The efforts are directed at assisting in the patient/family adjustment to illness, injury, or disability and secondary adjustment to hospitalization or other treatment, and readjustment to the community upon facility discharge. The Department has corresponding teaching and research functions related to health and healthcare delivery practices. The Medical Social Worker provides direct intervention on an as-needed basis with infants, children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients and/or families. The Medical Social Worker is expected to practice in accordance with performance standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Masters of Social Work. Able to implement assessments, short term counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy.Excellent task prioritization, time management, and communication skills. Preferred: LCSW. One (1) year hospital experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Requires prioritization. Frequent interruptions in an evironment of frequent change and fluctuations. For inpatient units: accepts accountability and responsibility. May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, possible radiation exposure, and infectious processes. Subject to computer work for several hours. Able to utilize office equipment within work area. Standing: On concrete, vinyl, or carpeting up to 4 hours per day and intermittently. Sitting: Chair or stool continuous up to 8 hours per day and intermittently. Changing Position: Intermittently, as needed. Walking: Inermittently up to 4 hours per day on concrete, vinyl, and carpeting. Bending: From the waist and knees, frequently throughout the day.Reaching/Handling: Fine manipulation, repetitive, gross motor requiring full ROM in upper extremeties, including overhead reaching. Twisting: All ROM required, intermittent periods, throughout the day. Climbing: Staircase, intermittently throughout the day.
