               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Medicare Billing / Follow-Up Representative<BR> <BR>Department Patient Business Services<BR> <BR>Location FAB 400<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm; 1.0 FTE; Salary Range: $15.24 - $20.65/hour; Location: downtown, Portland.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The responsibilities of this position are to bill, follow-up, process adjustments, collect on accounts, and/or perform customer service duties to ensure that monies due OHSU Hospitals & Clinics are secured and paid in a timely manner and the AR outstanding days of revenue are kept to a minimum. Assignment will be flexible depending on payer mix, patient flow and workload fluctuations. Serves as the principal PBS liaison between Care Management (includes Utilization Review) and Health Information Services to resolve account patient status issues. This position has a direct or indirect impact on approximately one billion dollars in accounts receivable annually (2011/2012).<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Two (2) years of recent experience billing or collecting healthcare accounts in a business office; OR four (4) years of general collection or billing experience. Recent Microsoft Office applications experience in Windows environment (within the last 2 years). Certified Patient Account Technician (CPAT) required within one (1) year of hire. Recent electronic billing experience (within the last 3 years). Current Medicare program knowledge (within the last 3 years). Superior communication and coordination skills. Familiarity with medical terminology. Typing 55 WPM; Ability to use multiple system applications; Strong written and oral communication; Legible handwriting; Detail oriented, analytical; Ability to interpret regulations; Punctual, good attendance, positive attitude; Ability to work in high volume, production environment; Excellent customer service and teamwork skills; Knowledge of DRG, CPT, HCPCS, & ICD-9 coding. Strong self-directed work ethic and ability to exercise independent judgement. Experience with SoftMed ClinTrac care management application preferred.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Patient Business Services is located in downtown Portland. Duties are performed in a general office environment. Occasional travel to the Marquam Hill campus may be required for meetings. Periodically lifts boxes up to 25 lbs.
