<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Kelly Scientific Resources has an immediate opening for a Mix Room Supervisor at a production bakery in SE Portland, Oregon. The Mix Room Supervisor proactively pursues excellence through the help of the assistant supervisor and department employees. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager with responsibility to the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager. This position will be offered on a temporary to hire basis.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR><BR>1. Responsible for implementing 5S, KANBAN, 5Y Root Cause Analysis, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.<BR><BR>2. Responsible for creating employee work schedules and ensuring proper communication when schedule changes are necessary.<BR><BR>3. Responsible for ensuring that Assistant Supervisors are adequately trained to perform the essential functions of their position.<BR><BR>4. Responsible for skills and performance evaluations for Assistant Supervisors and department staff. This also includes the creation and distribution of verbal/written warnings and documented counseling.<BR><BR>5. Responsible for ensuring that the work area is prepared by providing adequate supplies for each work station.<BR><BR>6. Stay abreast of day-to-day departmental and/or companies activities using appropriate communication tools (i.e. in-person, phone, voicemail, email). <BR><BR>7. Responsible for ensuring the appropriate inventory levels of packing supplies needed for pending orders, and ensuring that work stations are adequately stocked with necessary supplies (packing materials, pens, thermometers, etc.)<BR><BR>8. Responsible for ensuring that all department employees, including Assistant Supervisors, are properly trained on Standard Operating Procedures for all equipment and processes in the mix room.<BR><BR>a) Responsible for ensuring there is an adequate amount of wheat soaked to cover the day-?s production needs. Communicate any shortages to the employees grinding wheat.<BR><BR>b) Responsible for ensuring that:<BR><BR> i.Soakers and sponges are set according to specifications.<BR><BR> ii.All organic certification policies are adhered to, paying special attention to the recipe documentation of lot code tracking.<BR><BR>c) Responsible for running mix tests weekly<BR><BR>d) Responsible for verifying the calibration of all scales, thermometers or other instruments used in the Mix department.<BR><BR>e) Work with other managers to trouble shoot production issues with a goal of ensuring product quality and building employee morale.<BR><BR>f) Responsible for monitoring ingredients, scaling, pre-scaling, soaking wheat, grinding sprouted wheat, setting soakers, setting sponges, final mixing, following mixing procedures.<BR><BR>g) Responsible for morning start up routine including, but not limited to: turning on ovens and monitoring the proof boxes until oven staff arrives.<BR><BR>REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:<BR><BR>1.
