               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">PAS Specialist<BR> <BR>Department OHSU Family Medicine at Gabriel Park<BR> <BR>Location GP 1105<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position working M-Th 11:30- 8:00pm, Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm and occasional Saturdays. The salary range for this position is $14.57-19.64/hour; This position is located in SW Portland, OR.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The PAS Specialist - Front desk is responsible for all reception duties, including check in, check out, telephones and providing a high level of administrative support to both providers and patients. This will include gathering appropriate and correct patient demographics, financial screening, worker compensation status, and non-covered service status. Will schedule appointments including but not limited to new patient, ancillaries, procedure services, surgery services and follow-up appointments. Maintains current information on all managed care insurance plans and is up-to date with all insurance plan changes, utilizing information to efficiently and effectively obtain authorizations as appropriate. Solid understanding of ICD9/CPT coding requirements and issues. Responsible for keeping the schedule flowing smoothly and on time.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Six (6) months of work experience in a medical office setting, including high volume direct patientcontact OR one (1) One year experience in a Medical office setting, including high-volume patient contact, scheduling appointments in EPIC. Answering phones, medical scheduling, collecting co-pays and medical records experience. Basic computer keyboarding skills including typing of 30 - 45 wpm. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Strong relationship building skills with patients, health plans, providers, staff, management. Exceptional customer service skills - both in-person and on the phone. Exceptional interpersonal skills - able to resolve conflicts and to problem solve between parties. Patient advocacy skills - evaluate patient concerns for timely resolution; sensitive to patient needs. Preferred: High school diploma and two (2) year degree. Basic computer experience with database knowledge.Knowledge of OHSU admission policies and PAS/authorization policies preferred. Knowledge of PAS procedures and integrated care at OHSU. Proficient in university network computer applications using EPIC.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Exposure to ill patients - flu,colds, virus, HIV ect. Must be able to sit for long periods, move about the clinic as necessary, type/computer work for long periods, use of telephone for extended periods.
