Current research in the Nan laboratory focuses on using SRM to characterize the molecular architecture, spatial and reaction dynamics of oncogenic signaling complexes such as Ras/Raf and Ras/PI-3K at the single-molecule level, and by so doing to uncover the basic design and operational principles of these functional modules. In addition, we have collaborations with groups at OHSU, UCSF, as well as pharmaceutical companies on examining biological processes related to viron assembly, tumorigenesis, and drug resistance in cancer therapy.
We are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in building the next-generation SRM bioimaging tools and addressing key, health-related biological questions with combined imaging and biochemical approaches to join the lab.

Job Requirements

Required:
* PhD in Physics, Biology, Chemistry or related fields
* Ability to construct or operate custom optical setups
* Experience in molecular cloning, tissue culture, and common biochemical assays
* Proven skills in verbal communication and writing
Preferred:
* Knowledge on quantitative image analysis
* Prior experience in optical instrumentation
* Proficient in Matlab, C/C++, and/or Labview

Additional Details

How To Apply

Apply here online.
