The position is for one year, renewable to up to four years, based on performance. This is part of a 5-year NIH-R01-funded project entitled "Computational characterization of language use in autism spectrum disorder". Over the past several years, the Center for Spoken Language Understanding has developed a large corpus of transcribed and annotated spoken interactions with children aged 4-8 from three populations: typically developing (TD), those with some form of developmental language disorder (DLD), and those who are on the autism spectrum (ASD). Within the ASD group there are those who also meet criteria for DLD on standardized tests, as well as those who do not meet criteria. Most of the data come from clinician-child interactions during the Autism Spectrum Observation Schedule (ADOS), all sessions of which are videotaped, transcribed and annotated. For each child we also have a variety of other data, including measures on standardized language tests such as the CELF. The successful applicant will be working with a team with a variety of backgrounds including computational linguists, developmental psychologists, and speech and language pathologists.

Job Requirements

PhD in Linguistics or related field; Experience in computational linguistics and working with developmental language data.

Additional Details

How To Apply

Apply here online.
