<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Postdoctoral Researcher<BR> <BR>Department Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering<BR> <BR>Location OGI<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary range $39,264 - $46,000<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering Department at OHSU has an open postdoctoral fellow position in the laboratory of Dr. Summer Gibbs to develop super resolution, quantitative imaging microscopy for visualizing intracellular processes signaling at the nanoscopic level.<BR>The successful applicant will develop libraries of photoswitchable fluorophores enabling multi-spectral super resolution microscopy based on single molecule localization technology. The applicant will be responsible for the following research areas: 1) Synthesis of libraries of photoswitchable flurophores optimized for single molecule localization microscopy, 2) Intracellular protein tagging with newly developed fluorophores, 3) Optimization of sample preparation for super resolution imaging, and 4) Multi-spectral super resolution microscopy imaging of intracellular processes in collaboration with Dr. Xiaolin Nan?s research group.<BR>Numerous opportunities are available for application of the developed technology to both fundamental and clinically-direct projects in the areas of spatial system biology and in the areas of cancer and neurological disease.
