The position requires high-level technical contribution and working with minimum supervision. This position will report to the Chief Metallurgist and will be based in Portland Oregon.<BR><BR>Primary responsibilities will include:<BR>· Continuous improvement of processes within our global steel foundries.<BR>· Provide plant support on steelmaking and heat treating issues and improvement.<BR>· Research and develop new alloys and processes.<BR>· Contribute to the technical leadership of ESCO by keeping abreast of metallurgical advancements and ensuring that self and department continue to grow in metallurgical knowledge.<BR>Job Requirements :<BR><BR>· B.S in Metallurgy or Material Science. Emphasis on steel preferred.<BR>· Preference will be given to candidates with experience within a steel foundry.<BR>· Failure analysis skills.<BR>· Metallurgical investigation and experimentation skills.<BR>· Foundry process knowledge.<BR>· Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in Root Cause Analysis, statistical methods, DOE and other quality tools.<BR>· Excellent communication skills.<BR>· Action oriented and customer focused.<BR>· Willingness to study, formally and informally, to develop world class skills.<BR>· Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-40%.<BR>· Conversational in Spanish or Mandarin language strongly preferred. </font></td>
