Projects are complex, high-cost and high-risk with a great degree of diversity. Project Managers manage the work of project teams including project coordinators, drafters, estimators, outside contractors and consulting design professionals and are responsible for delivering projects on the right schedule, at the right scope, and for the right budget. This position in the Design and Construction Department reports to the Project Team Manager for Healthcare and will focus their skills, knowledge and abilities on delivering sustaining capital projects primarily within the Healthcare arena. Projects typically involve construction within both the inpatient and outpatient environments inside a fully operational facility where schedule control and impact mitigation are paramount. Facilitating progress within a complex, multi-faceted organization with a keen eye towards the ultimate interest of the owner is the key to success.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Bachelor's degree or Certification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Project Management or related field. Substantial experience (at least 5) in managing design and construction activities for primarily medical, academic, research and institutional facilities. Thorough knowledge of preparing contract documents required, with documentable experience in multi-disciplinary project teams. ? Knowledge of fixed price, guaranteed maximum price, design/build delivery methods and construction practices.? Mathematical theories applicable to the planning, programming, design and construction of buildings or facilities.? Must be able to develop budgets and schedules and document project information and details.? Design principles and practices of architecture; and civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering.? Strong working knowledge of common materials and techniques of the construction and remodel of academic and healthcare buildings and facilities.? Structure and content of the English language, rules of composition, report writing and grammar.? Personal communication techniques used to resolve disputes between people and to achieve consensus among divergent points of view.? Working Knowledge of PMI and professional project management standards.? Experience with HIPAA, JCAHO and related statutes, rules, regulations and guidelines.? LEED practices, methods, common materials and techniques.Preferred: ? Familiarity with NIH grant funded construction project management. ? Professional architectural or engineering license, registration or certification.? Professional Project Management Certification.?
