We need you to bring unique solutions to our challenging problems.<BR><BR>In this role you will be accountable for:<BR><BR>* Ensure finished product and in-process samples meet specifications by performing line checks and various routine chemistry and sensory testing done in accordance to SOP's and standardized methods.<BR>* Perform data entry work, general lab housekeeping tasks, and ensure proper laboratory supplies inventory.<BR>* As part of the quality control team, you will look for ways to continuously improve lab and production methods for both speed, effectiveness and waste reduction while improving product quality and increasing production operator understanding of key quality criteria and their direct impact on it. This position involves varying degrees of complexity due to microbiological and sensory tests and skills.<BR><BR>The ideal candidate will have:<BR><BR>* A HS diploma or GED. Associates Degree in Science or course work in microbiology or equivalent work experience preferred.<BR>* 2-4 years of experience in production / manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Experience in the dairy, food and beverage industry strongly desired.<BR>* Understanding of basic microbiological issues.<BR>* Established self management skills. Must bring interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills required to interact with various levels of plant personnel work with minimal supervision and with varying degrees of ambiguity.<BR>* Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills— the ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve complicated problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.<BR>* Basic computer and math skills. Ability to read and write fluid English.<BR>* Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (i.e. forklift).<BR>* The willingness to work flexible schedules as needed.
