The Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and a commitment to service excellence. This position will provide Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy Ambulatory Care case management, develop educational material to support the Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy Ambulatory Care program in collaboration with the Pediatric Epilepsy Program Clinical Coordinator and the Pediatric Neurology RN Care Coordinator, perform telephone and face to face triage, and support the Ketogenic diet program, Vagal Nerve Stimulator Program management, inpatient Video-EEG Monitoring and SPECT programs. Able to work at the DCH main campus as well at the DCH Westside campus as well as some evenings as this position is the liaison between DCH and the schools.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: An associate degree in Nursing. Unencumbered licensed to Practice Professional Nursing in the State of Oregon. BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Recent experience with patients with neurological diseases and disorders and/or pediatric patients in an inpatient or ambulatory care setting who had neurological problems. Strong interpersonal skills.Strong skills in written and oral communication. Self-starter, ability to function in both an independent and dependent role. Preferred: BSN from an accredited School of Nursing. Recent experience of Pediatric Neurology including telephone triaging in an Ambulatory Care setting. Preceptor to nursing students, medical assistant and EMT externs. Certification in Pediatric Nursing Specialty.
